EPAH lunch talk #7 - Coping with energy poverty during summer

Much of Europe has experienced intense heatwaves since 2000, with notable impacts on human health and socio-economic systems. And, although energy poverty has traditionally been defined by wintertime heating, it is just as important during the summer months.

Up to 19 % of households in the EU reported being too hot during the summer. This lunch talk proposes to have an exchange around summer energy poverty concept and will provide practical recommendations to raise summer energy poverty awareness and reduce cooling needs.

About the EPAH lunch talks:

The EPAH lunch talks are a series of webinars organised monthly to give a space to municipalities in Europe and other key stakeholders to share their experiences of local action to tackle energy poverty. The interest is to address different themes within the energy poverty issues.

The lunch talk format includes 15-20 minutes of presentation and 40-45 minutes of discussion between participants.
