Fairer energy prices for low income households

Millions of households are cutting back on essential energy with many going without energy at all. The situation is likely to get worse this winter since consumers will no longer receive the energy price support provided by the government in 2022/23.
Join this event organised by the Fuel Poverty Research Network for a discussion on how energy prices could be reformed to make energy more affordable.  What type of tariffs could help households avoid financial stress? How might we achieve change? We’ll hear from researchers and advocates about potential reforms and securing support for change.

This session will be hosted by the following experts:

  • Brenda Boardman, ECI, Oxford University
  • David Southgate, Age UK
  • New Economics Foundation (speaker details TBC)
  • Ruth London, Fuel Poverty Action
