From niche to mainstream: energy poverty data and policies in the EU - University of Trieste webinar series

The effects of the pandemic and the geopolitical turbulence are visible on higher energy costs and weak economic performance signalling a reverse of a trend on energy poverty that in 2020 started to increase in the EU after seven years of negative adaptations. Tackling this requires a better understanding of the social groups and territories affected most as well as relevant policy action. In this webinar, the University of Trieste receives Girgos Koukoufikis (Joint Research Centre) to discuss what the Joint Research Centre and the Commission are doing on the challenge, as well as provide insights on the latest data and energy poverty indicators available.

Free access.

The webinar series organised by the University of Trieste and the Interdepartmental Centre ''Giacomo Ciamician'' for energy, environment and transport are four meetings to learn about studies, experiments and good practices to combat energy poverty, following up on past discussions and exchanges during the international EPAH conference held in Zagreb on 28-29 June 2022.
