Exciting news: New online course on energy poverty

Energy poverty is a growing challenge and civil society not only needs to acknowledge the challenge but also take concrete and effective actions to address it.  However, due to the complexity of the phenomena, front-line actors often face a lack of the required experience and capacity to tackle it.

Local and regional governments are in an ideal position to take action against energy poverty (they have a direct dialogue with the citizens and are super-parties with respect to the energy market). EPAH will support local governments, to play an active and significant role in addressing energy poverty by providing learning opportunities to increase knowledge and build capacity on energy poverty.

EPAH has released two courses and is planning to release a final course in 2024. The "Alleviating energy poverty: How to implement local actions – EPAH extended course" will address civil servants, technical staff, and practitioners with the aim of increasing knowledge and capacity on practical aspects of energy poverty mitigation and push local actions. The course will offer practical on-the-ground information, including case studies, best practices, available tools, and resources and will be available in English.

Second online course: Energy poverty in Europe: From policy framework to integration in local action plans.

The Energy poverty in Europe: From policy framework to integration in local action plans is coming to assist decision makers of local governments to initiate a local policy or design a plan to tackle it in their municipality or region. However, all different stakeholders interested in addressing energy poverty can follow the course and benefit from its learning material

The course is divided in four modules during which you are going to be introduced to the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub tools, the European policy framework of energy poverty, the social need and benefits of addressing it and finally the Energy Poverty Circular Model for designing and implementing local actions to tackle the phenomenon.

Each module is composed of a set of audio presentations from experts in the field, interviews with practitioners presenting local cases and interactive hands on activities that will help you evaluate your knowledge and share your thoughts at the end of each lesson.

Duration: 8 to 10 hours of commitment but you can take the course at your own pace. You can always save your progress and come back later..
