Description
This onsite event is a closed-door policy dialogue conducted under the Chatham House Rule, bringing together a selected group of local and regional authorities, policymakers and experts.
Every day, local and regional authorities are making the energy transition a reality. They are helping families reduce their energy bills, supporting home renovations, creating local energy services and ensuring that no one is left behind. They understand better than anyone both the opportunities and the barriers to tackling energy poverty on the ground.
Now is the opportunity to bring those experiences to the European table.
Organised as a side event to the Covenant of Mayors Ceremony, this policy dialogue is hosted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy through the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH). It will provide participants with an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss one key question:
How can Europe better support local action to eradicate energy poverty?
This is not a traditional conference session. It is an interactive working dialogue where local governments will exchange experiences, discuss common challenges, showcase innovative solutions and help shape practical recommendations for future European policies and support programmes.
Whether your municipality is just beginning its journey or has years of experience, your insights can inspire others and contribute to building stronger, more effective policies across Europe.
Registration
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
To maximise meaningful exchange between local and regional authorities and the European Commission, the event will be held as a closed-door discussion with a limited number of participants. Therefore, submitting a registration request does not guarantee participation.
Registration requests will be reviewed, and only selected participants will receive a confirmation email with practical information after the registration period closes.
