Energy Poverty Advisory Hub Annual Conference 2026: Call for Session proposals

The European Commission’s initiative Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) is inviting organisations across Europe to submit session proposals for its Annual Conference 2026, taking place in Athens, Greece on 17–18 March 2026

The event is organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy, in collaboration with the City of Athens and EPAH, with support from the local EPAH antenna INZEB.

This high-level conference will bring together policymakers, local governments, practitioners, and experts to address energy poverty as a growing structural challenge in Europe. With rising energy costs, low household incomes, and insufficient building performance affecting millions, the event will spotlight long-term, people-centred solutions and integrated local action.

Apply by 19 December 2025

Why apply

EPAH is looking for organisations eager to share knowledge, present successful initiatives, and support local governments in tackling energy poverty. Session organisers can contribute by hosting:

  • Interactive workshops
  • Panel discussions
  • Networking area presentations

Selected sessions will become part of the official conference agenda alongside high-level interventions, practical workshops, and a site visit showcasing local initiatives in Athens.

The allocated time for each session will be 1 hour and 30 minutes. Applications must include tangible results, outputs, and lessons learned from the initiatives presented.

What sessions should focus on

Proposals are encouraged to address one or more key themes, such as:

  • Identifying and measuring energy poverty

  • Community-driven solutions and energy communities

  • Behavioural change and awareness

  • One-stop-shops and local advice services

  • Home renovation for vulnerable households

  • Financial instruments and practical support

Who can apply

Local and regional governments, civil society organisations, EU and national initiatives, research institutions, energy agencies, public and private organisations. Each proposal must involve 2 to 4 partner entities.
