EPAH lunch talk#8 - Domestic safety challenges: risk of fire for energy-poor households

The series of EPAH lunch talk continues with a session dedicated to fire risk.

This session aims to shed light on the intersection of energy poverty and fire risk, exploring the factors that make individuals experiencing energy poverty more vulnerable to domestic fire incidents. This will be opportunity to share practical solutions to mitigate fire risk and ensure energy efficient and fire safe housing for households, discussing the different facets of the challenge: unsafe energy consumption practices, poor quality or obsolete electrical installations, fire prevention measures in retrofitting interventions and etc.

Agenda:

• Olivier Tissot, coordinator of the secretariat of the Forum for European Electrical Domestic Safety (FEEDS) will present the work of the forum on energy poverty and fire risk, sharing the results of a research carried out in Europe on the matter.
• Q&A session, followed by a conversation among all the participants

About the EPAH lunch talks:

The EPAH lunch talks are a series of webinars organised monthly to give a space to municipalities in Europe and other key stakeholders to share their experiences of local action to tackle energy poverty. The interest is to address different themes within the energy poverty issues.

The lunch talk format includes 15-20 minutes of presentation and 40-45 minutes of discussion between participants.
