EU regions week
Millions of Europeans struggle to pay their energy bills and keep their homes sufficiently warm or cool, while also being affected in different ways by existing transport barriers. The COVID-19 pandemic has further aggravated these problems. In this context, a fair, just, and inclusive energy transition becomes a complex but essential challenge.
The session, part of the European Week of Regions and Cities will address:
- The new Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH)
- Regional disparities in energy poverty: tackling the problem at the source
- Empowering vulnerable groups during the transition: the role of EU legislation and policy
- Transport poverty and energy transition: the current state of play and the challenges ahead
