Ampelokipi-Menemeni - EPAH Technical Assistance

Local/regional project

The Ampelokipi-Menemeni Municipality and the Process Energy Design Laboratory (PEDL), in collaboration with INZEB - Initialising Energy Balance Towards Zero, developed a technical assistance (TA) to initiate an energy poverty diagnosis process.

The project focused on strengthening the municipality's internal capacity for energy poverty diagnosis. It aimed to help municipal staff and Process Energy Design Laboratory (PEDL) researchers identify an effective methodological approach using qualitative and quantitative indicators tailored to local needs.

Key activities involved developing the methodological approach, identifying local and regional stakeholders to support the diagnosis process, creating training material for municipal staff and interested stakeholders, designing a tailored questionnaire for the municipality's needs, conducting a diagnosis process involving 651 household interviews, and organising awareness and policy-related events. Throughout the TA, a focus on addressing energy poverty led to in-depth discussions of three solutions—SECAP, a One Stop Shop, and an energy community.
