The Financial Education and tackle Energy Poverty programme was focused in the economical empowerment of families, income management for households, investments, basic supplies, debt, overindebtness and housing. The use of clean energy and responsible consumption were part of the main objetives of the programme.
The programme is developed in three fields:
- Counseling: economic, energetic and for a sensible enterpreneurship
- Training: workshops held by our staff and reference persons in the energy or economy fields.
- Dissemination: Three different initiatives, a website for share news and information generated by our staff. an annual meeting for NGOs, stakeholders, professionals and families, and three little meetings that are more focused in families and general public to solve the lake of information on energy or in economics.
The programme was available for all society, with priority for single-parent families, vulnerable families and people in risk of poverty.
More specifically, the activities developed with a budget between 10.000 and 100.000€ include:
- Creating a counseling service that allows people and families an access to fair information.
- Training volunteers to improve the counseling services with other frontline services.
- Developing materials and workshops for families.
- Putting in contact stakeholders and NGOs from all Spain to share best practices.
- Disseminating initiatives and information for all the population.
The project was a good practice of an initiative focused in single-parents form their needs, without a partial vision of the single-parenthood. The initiative shared good practices for all Spain and Europe and implemented a safe place for people and families. In this programme, the families had integral information, from basic debt advice, basic supplies and contracts to all the information about the new legal procedures, events to know the best practices in Spain in the energy and economic fields, and workshops to put in practice all these new ideas in their own lives.
