SHINE - Seasonal Health Intervention Network

Local/regional project

SHINE provides seasonal interventions across the London Boroughs. It advises and refers to vulnerable groups including people on low incomes & with health conditions and also provides efficiency grants.

With a budget of over 1 million €, the project offers energy advice, homes visits, benefit checks, debt advice, energy efficiency grants and referrals to health services, the London Fire Brigade and the police. It also provides telephone support & electricity and water discounts. Focused on groups most in need (people who spend over 10% of their income on energy; older people; people who have long-term health issues such as respiratory or cardiovascular conditions, disabilities or impairments; and families with younger children).

Main beneficiaries: the energy-poor, low-income consumers.
