The ASSERT project, funded by the European LIFE program (LIFE23-CET-ENERPOV), is now accepting applications for its exclusive mentorship program aimed at tackling energy poverty among persons with disabilities. This initiative is a unique opportunity for policymakers, civil society intermediaries, and local communities to gain the knowledge and skills needed to drive impactful change.
Why apply?
Energy poverty disproportionately affects individuals with physical disabilities due to their higher energy needs and often limited incomes. Poor housing conditions and rising energy costs further exacerbate health issues, creating a cycle of hardship. The ASSERT mentorship programme is designed to break this cycle by equipping key actors with the tools to implement effective policies and solutions.
Who can apply?
ASSERT is looking for 25 pairs of municipalities and intermediaries across five pilot countries: Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, and Spain. If you are a policymaker or a civil society intermediary eager to address energy poverty and its impact on persons with disabilities, this programme is for you.
What will you gain?
- Tailored training and mentorship to build essential skills.
- Support in conducting detailed needs assessments to address local challenges.
- Resources for co-creating impactful training materials that strengthen community responses to energy poverty.
- Guidance in integrating energy poverty and disability considerations into local policies.
- Ongoing monitoring and evaluation to measure the effectiveness of interventions.
How to apply:
Applications are open from 3 February to 16 March 2025. Visit the dedicated page for your pilot country by changing the language from the top right of the page to learn more about upcoming informative webinars and the application process.
Apply now and be part of the movement to make energy policies more inclusive and effective.
