Energy poverty indicators at the municipal scale in Barcelona

The project "Indicadors municipals de pobresa energètica a la ciutat de Barcelona" focused on the compilation and assessment of local datasets and indicators for producing an estimate of the incidence of energy poverty at the local scale in Barcelona. Energy poverty data are often only available at the national and regional scale. Local authorities in Barcelona could access a wealth of data from state surveys, local projects and their own local services (social services and Energy Advisory Points) - an unprecedented amount of information for assessing energy poverty at the city scale.

The activities developed with a budget between 10.000 and 100.000€ include:

• Locating and compiling data sources: September - December 2017
• Data analysis: October - Dec 2017
• Drafting of the report: October 2017 - Jan 2018.
