Sponsorship Plan "Saving - Upgrading the Homes"

Policies and Measures

The programme benefits energy suppliers and the general population and aims at the extensive energy upgrade of existing homes located in areas under the control of the Republic of Cyprus.

The intensity of the sponsorship amounts to 60% of the approved budget of each application and can cover costs related to thermal insulation of the house shell, replacement of frames, installation of shading systems as well as the installation and/or replacement of technical systems (such as e.g. solar, photovoltaic, air conditioners, storage batteries, control systems, etc.). For the homes of vulnerable consumers, the intensity of sponsorship increases to 80%.

The programme motivates the general population to upgrade the energy efficiency of their home and reduce electricity consumption and CO2.
