Description

The COOLTORISE project, the first Horizon 2020 initiative exclusively targeting summer energy poverty [https://cooltorise.eu/], has just released its second Policy Brief. This document reflects the project’s commitment to enhancing indoor thermal conditions for vulnerable families, aiming to reduce energy needs during the hot season and alleviate heat-related health risks. Through close collaboration with stakeholders, the team has focused on overcoming the challenges associated with measuring impacts on households facing summer energy poverty. The brief goes beyond simple energy savings metrics, proposing additional indicators that better capture the true improvements in living conditions. By addressing these specific challenges, the document provides valuable insights and recommendations for policymakers and practitioners working to mitigate the effects of summer energy poverty and improve the resilience of affected communities.
