RENOVERTY Online Training: Co-Creation for Rural Energy Renovation

The RENOVERTY project has launched a free online course dedicated to co-creation in rural energy renovation. Designed for municipalities, professionals, and local stakeholders, the training supports more inclusive and effective approaches to tackling energy poverty in rural areas through participatory renovation planning.

Co-creation is central to RENOVERTY’s approach, empowering citizens, local authorities, NGOs, and energy experts to work together on tailored renovation roadmaps that reflect real community needs.

The course covers:

  • The basics of co-creation and how to engage diverse stakeholders

  • Strategies for single-family and multi-family building renovations

  • How to communicate renovation benefits and counter common misconceptions

  • Step-by-step guidance on the renovation process

  • Financial tools and funding opportunities

  • Key concepts like the Building Life Cycle and Building Renovation Passport

  • Supporting households during renovation and promoting long-term energy habits

Real case studies from RENOVERTY’s pilot areas illustrate how co-creation leads to stronger community ownership and better outcomes.
