Technical assistance

We provide tailored technical assistance to local governments and organisations working closely with them to tackle the root causes of energy poverty, based on a structured and comprehensive approach. Our open calls for technical assistance enable us to support beneficiaries in designing and implementing effective, locally grounded work plans, while promoting innovation and collaboration across sectors and stakeholders.

Our first two calls, launched in 2022 and 2023, led to partnerships with around 85 local governments across Europe. A third call in early 2026 resulted in 59 successful applications. This third round of assistance is now underway. Please check back over the coming months to discover how efforts are progressing.

Building on these successes, we will launch additional calls in 2027 and 2028, with a particular focus on severely affected communities facing structural barriers to adequate energy access, and on innovative local initiatives that can be tested, strengthened and scaled up to deliver lasting impact.
